NEWS: Gogokid announces changes to application process

[August 22, 2019] Gogokid recently announced changes to its application process for prospective teachers. The updated application process will come into effect for teachers who apply after August 22, 2019.

The changes come in the form of further training required by teachers before they can begin teaching.

Previously, the steps were:

  1. Basic Information

  2. Interview (including a demo lesson)

  3. Orientation (video with an accompanying quiz)

  4. Document Uploading (background check, degree, teaching certificates)

  5. Contract Offer and Signing

The new process has expanded the Orientation section to include a One-to-Many Live Training Session and a One-on-One Mock Class Training Session.

The One-to-Many Live Training Session is a group workshop conducted by a member of the Gogokid Workshop Coaching Team. It lasts approximately one hour and introduces applicants to the 9 Essential ESL Strategies. A quiz accompanies this training session.

The One-on-One Mock Class Training session lasts approximately one hour. During this training, applicants are given a full introduction to the Gogokid classroom and its functions, will teach two 10-minute demo lessons (a K level lesson and a L1 lesson), and will be given feedback from Gogokid trainers. Applicants have to pass this mock class training in order to continue the application process.

Therefore, the new process is:

  1. Basic Information

  2. Interview (including a demo lesson)

  3. Orientation:

    1. Orientation Video and Quiz

    2. One-to-Many Live Training Session

    3. One-on-One Mock Class Training Session

  4. Document Uploading (background check, degree, teaching certificates)

  5. Contract Offer and Signing
