Gogokid is a brand new ESL website being funded by Chinese tech giant Bytedance, a massive company worth over $75 billion USD.
After executing substantial advertising campaigns in late 2018 and early 2019, they now have a significant student base and are in need of teachers.
Gogokid classes are one-on-one and last for 25 minutes.
Children (age range not specified)
To teach at Gogokid, you must:
be a native English speaker.
be legally eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada.
have a Bachelor’s degree.
have one year experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching etc.)
*TESOL, TEFL, or ESL experience is helpful, but NOT required.
The base pay ranges from $7 to $10 USD per 25 minute class. This is based on your qualifications and experience. Teachers are able to make up $25 USD/hour with bonuses.
Gogokid operates on a credit score system. For successfully completing classes and getting great reviews from parents, your score can go up. Your score starts at 100 and goes up to a maximum of 120. If your credit score reaches 110, Gogokid pays you 110% of your base pay rate. If your score reaches 120, they pay you 125% of your base pay rate.
They also pay $10 USD for every student that signs up with Gogokid after taking your trial class.
As previously mentioned, they are offering a new teacher sign-on bonus of $300 USD. That's right - you get $300 just for being hired. Once you are hired, you can use your own referral code to get other teachers hired and Gogokid will pay you a referral bonus for that.
The main stages are:
interview and demo class*
contract signing and profile completion
*Gogokid has now added an option where applicants can upload their recorded demo videos instead of trying to book a live interview. Click here for details.
Teachers have the ability to open and close their own slots at will.
No minimum hours required for teachers who sign their contracts after September 27, 2018.

Gogokid is no longer offering the $300 new teacher sign-on bonus after January 31st, 2019. If you are currently in the recruitment process, you must sign your contract by this date to qualify for the bonus.
Gogokid has updated the requirements for the $300 sign-on bonus. As part of the old requirements, teachers must:
finish 3 “As Scheduled” classes (not including the mentor class) within 30 days from the day teachers sign their first contract with Gogokid;
NOT receive a Teacher No-Show, Teacher Cancellation, Teacher IT finish type or valid parent complaint within 30 days from the day they sign their first contract with Gogokid
As of December 2018, new teachers must also:
ppen at least 75 peak time slots (7:00 pm, 7:30 pm, 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm Beijing time) at least 48 hours in advance and leave them open until they are either booked or expired during the 30 days period.
The platform is back up and running and teachers have reported higher bookings than they ever have.
Gogokid is NO LONGER offering the unbooked time slot subsidy to new teachers who sign their contract after September 27, 2018. They will continue to offer guaranteed pay for unbooked time slots to teachers who signed their contract before this date.
Also, please note: they are STILL offering the $300 sign-on bonus. Teachers can get $150 for teaching three classes within their first 30 days. They will get an additional $150 if they get no negative reviews during that time.
Gogokid has temporarily shut down its platform for three weeks of maintenance. Teachers who had already booked classes will still be able to teach them. However, teachers will not be able to open NEW time slots during this time.
Other important notes:
Many applicants are automatically failing the Gogokid application because of a confusing question:
Will you now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status in the United States or Canada?
Applicants MUST ANSWER “NO” in order to pass the first stage of the application .
To get into the GoGoKid classroom for interviews, you MUST use Google Chrome. If you aren't on Chrome you will get a prompt to download an app, which is actually the student app and is entirely in Chinese. You will not be able to access the interview this way.
